Register to join the MSU SONiC Lab Team (Director: Dr. Thea Knowles) at the Michigan Parkinson Foundation Hero Walk!

Time: 9am – 12pm
Location: Hawk Island Park in Lansing (it’s booked for the event so no parking fees).

If you’d like to support the cause but can’t attend, you can also spread the word and/or donate to our team instead.
Who should join? Anyone interested in getting outside to support critical programs and services to our local Parkinson’s community. Our team will be present as an advocate for supporting communication changes that occur commonly in Parkinson’s and the role that speech-language pathologists can play.

Note: this is a GREAT opportunity for incoming MA students and up and coming undergraduateswho would like some hands-on opportunities with a wonderful community. Our team will be leading speech/voice exercise demos, which will serve both as 1) education and advocacy regarding Parkinson’s speech therapy resources and 2) a mini-tutorial for CSD students who would like to learn more about speech and voice treatment in this population. If you are interested in being part of our speech demo team, let me know and I’ll provide more info in a follow-up email.
