Poster presentation at the International Clinical Phonetics and Linguistics Association Conference

Thea will be presenting a poster at the 2021 International Clinical Phonetics and Linguistics Association Conference (ICPLA) on Friday, June 25. This conference was originally scheduled for summer 2020 and had to be postponed due to the pandemic. While still virtual, we are so grateful to be able to be a part of it this year (though certainly wish we could be in Glasgow!)!

The poster, titled “Speech intelligibility in Parkinson’s disease as a function of speaking rate and speech task,” presents changes in intelligibility and phoneme identification accuracy across a range of speech rate modifications in talkers with Parkinson’s disease.

Check out the poster here.

A portion of this work (sentence and monologue intelligibility findings) was recently published in the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research. Find a freely accessible version of the PDF here or by visiting our research page.
